In 2023, The Seafarers’ Charity awarded £2.4m in grants to 50 organisations supporting seafarers in need and their families.
Our grant funding supports frontline organisations and projects that provide essential help for seafarers and their families in crisis. Each grant application is assessed against our core goals to ensure the support provided to ensure that your donations go to where the need is greatest.

Funding towards the replacement of fabric chairs in the Care Home at Mariners' Park.
Amount awarded: £5,000
QVSR Seafarers Centres
Funding to purchase furniture and equipment to fit out a new rest and recreation lounge for cruise ship crews visiting Tilbury Docks in London.
Amount awarded: £3,000
Islay and Jura Community Enterprises Ltd
Funding to support the Inspiring and Supporting Maritime Life Programme delivered to current and former seafarers and their families on the Scottish Hebridean islands of Islay & Jura.
Amount awarded: £10,000
Hounds for Heroes
Funding to support advanced specialist training journey for eight puppies to become assistance dogs to support ex-armed forces veterans.
Amount awarded: £12,500
Fishermen's Mission
Core funding to deliver Fishermens' Mission's outreach service, along with a capacity-building grant to implement a new IT platform to merge and streamline service delivery and fundraising operations.
Amount awarded: £146,000
Queen Victoria Seamen's Rest (QVSR)
Funding to supplement the provision of QVSR's accommodation and welfare support for active and retired seafarers and their dependants at the hostel in East India Dock Road.
Amount awarded: £40,000
