In 2024, The Seafarers’ Charity awarded £2.6m through 64 grants to 48 organisations supporting seafarers in need and their families.
Our grant funding supports frontline organisations and projects that provide essential help for seafarers and their families in crisis. Each grant application is assessed against our core goals to ensure the support provided to ensure that your donations go to where the need is greatest.

UK Women in Fisheries CIC
Bridging funding to enable the UK Women in Fisheries to develop the UK Women in Fishing network until FaSS matched funding can unlock their previously approved grant from The Seafarers' Charity.
Amount awarded: £10,000
Sailors' Children's Society
Funding to support strategies to increase financial sustainability through strengthening the Sailors’ Children’s Society capacity to raise more funds from a wider range of income streams.

The Officers' Association
Funding for the Officers' Association Benevolent Fund (OABF) to provide financial grants and welfare services to Royal Navy/Royal Marine Officer beneficiaries living in the UK, delivered by the Officers' Association casework service.
Amount awarded: £39,000
Mortrans Welfare Fund
Assistance for displaced seafarers who continue to suffer after the destruction of the Kakhovka Dam and subsequent flooding caused loss of homes and livelihoods in Ukraine in July 2023.
Amount awarded: £20,000
South Western Fish Producer Organisation (SWFPO)
Funding to establish a means-tested Fisher Apprentice Discretionary (FAD) Fund that can be accessed by apprentices experiencing financial difficulty which would otherwise prevent them from completing an 18-month fisher apprenticeship programme. Generously co-funded by the Fishmongers' Company's Charitable Trust (£10,000)

Naval Children's Charity
Funding for bespoke services that respond to the unique needs of the Children or Young People (CYP) of those serving in the Royal Naval Service including the Royal Navy, Royal Marines, Royal Fleet Auxiliary and Reserves.
