In 2022, The Seafarers’ Charity awarded £3,095,449 in grants to 61 organisations supporting seafarers in need and their families.

Our grant funding supports frontline organisations and projects that provide essential help for seafarers and their families in crisis. Each grant application is assessed against our core goals to ensure the support provided to ensure that your donations go to where the need is greatest.

Greenwich Citizens Advice Bureau Limited

Funding to support the Seafarers Advice & Information Line to provide a free Citizens Advice Bureau telephone advice service to fishers and merchant seafarers.

Amount awarded: £153,615

International Seafarers' Welfare & Assistance Network

The grant is for the salaries and running costs of SeafarerHelp, the multilingual 24-hour helpline for seafarers and their families all over the world.

Amount awarded: £150,000

International Seafarers' Welfare & Assistance Network

A grant awarded by the Seafarers' International Relief Fund to help support vaccinations for seafarers in India, and to provide financial and emotional help for seafarers and their families impacted by COVID-19 in India.

Amount awarded: £133,000

Naval Children's Fund

Welfare support for Officers' children, and bereaved children of seafarers who work in the Royal Naval Service: Royal Navy, Royal Marines, Royal Fleet Auxiliary and their Reserves.

International Seafarers' Welfare & Assistance Network

A grant awarded from the Seafarers International Relief Fund for financial hardship grants to Filipino seafarers and their dependants, as well as next of kin of deceased seafarers, who are impacted by COVID-19 in the Philippines.
