In 2025, The Seafarers’ Charity awarded over £2.7m through 60 grants to 53 organisations supporting seafarers in need and their families.

Our grant funding supports frontline organisations and projects that provide essential help for seafarers and their families in crisis. Each grant application is assessed against our core goals to ensure the support provided to ensure that your donations go to where the need is greatest.

Greenwich CAB (Scotland)

Funding for Scotland

Multi-year pass through funding from the Peter Dixon Trust to expand operations in Scotland

Amount awarded: £5,000

The Not Forgotten Association (NFA)

Entertainment for the Next Generation

Funding to advance the development of The Military App created by social enterprise Allegr Ltd, used to connect veterans. The app will complement their in-person events and act as a virtual connective tissue, bringing together people and support organisations that are delivering

NWF

Case worker service salaries

Funding to support the full cost of the Nautical Welfare Fund’s Caseworker service helping retired seafarers and their dependents access all the benefits and public services they are entitled to including help with rehousing, accessing occupational therapy and physiotherapy services, GP support as well as applying for Nautilus Welfare Fund grants.

Mission To Seafarers Antibes

Superyacht Welfare Hub

Continued multi-year funding to build on recent work to establish a superyacht crew welfare hub in Antibes, France which combines in-person pastoral care, targeted training, and specialist referrals to address the distinct mental health and well-being needs of superyacht crew.

Amount awarded: £149,791

Port Skills and Safety LTD

PSS Fishing Port Safety Year 2

Funding to continue the employment of the Fishing Port Safety Manager (FPSM) for another year.

Amount awarded: £51,154

Shipwrecked Mariners

Regular Grants for Retired Seafarers

Funding to support Shipwrecked Mariners long term work of providing regular grants to retired mariners (or those unable to work) living on low incomes.

Amount awarded: £75,000
