Our grant funding supports frontline organisations and projects that provide essential help for seafarers and their families in crisis. Each grant application is assessed against our core goals to ensure the support provided to ensure that your donations go to where the need is greatest.

International Seafarers’ Welfare Assistance Network

A grant awarded in 2022 to provide financial assistance to seafarers and their dependents affected by Typhoon Rai in the Philippines which will enable them to repair their damaged homes.

Amount awarded: £13,250

International Seafarers' Welfare & Assistance Network

Grant funding awarded in 2022 to cover bank charges incurred while making international banking transfers for individual hardship grants from the SIRF Ukraine Crisis Support Fund (an initiative funded by the Ukraine Seafarers International Relief Fund)

Amount awarded: £9,700

Mortrans Welfare Fund

Grant funding awarded in 2022 from the Seafarers International Relief Fund to provide additional funding for Ukrainian port workers impacted by the ongoing war. These funds will be used to supply key necessities such as shelter, food, water, transport and medical resources.

Amount awarded: £9,500

University of Bristol - Personal Finance Research Centre

Grant funding awarded in 2022 to explore issues relating to seafarers with gambling problems in order to produce a short practical guide containing support for seafarers and their families impacted by gambling.

Amount awarded: £8,100

The Money Charity

Grant funding awarded in 2022 to develop and deliver a new financial capability webinar for caseworkers, support workers, and volunteers supporting the financial resilience of UK merchant seafarers.

Amount awarded: £5,100

Fishermen’s Mission

Grant funding awarded to provide hardship grants to commercial fishers in England whose livelihoods have been impacted by the unexplained deaths of lobster, crab and poisoned fish stocks.

Amount awarded: £5,000
