In 2025, The Seafarers’ Charity awarded over £2.7m through 60 grants to 53 organisations supporting seafarers in need and their families.
Our grant funding supports frontline organisations and projects that provide essential help for seafarers and their families in crisis. Each grant application is assessed against our core goals to ensure the support provided to ensure that your donations go to where the need is greatest.

Merchant Navy Welfare Board
Funding for an Equity, Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Pilot Project co-created and co-funded by a cohort of maritime charities including The Seafarers’ Charity.

Annual contribution towards the Merchant Navy Medal Fund.

The Falkland Islands Memorial Chapel Trust
Installation of a plaque in the Falkland Islands Memorial Chapel memorial garden to commemorate those in the Royal and Merchant Navies who perished in the Falkland's war.

Mission to Seafarers
Grant funding awarded in 2022 to support their new Justice and Welfare Chaplain role in Dubai, contribute to the emergency Samaritan Fund and assist with Advocacy Department's central costs.
Amount awarded: £55,000
Stella Maris
Grant funding awarded in 2022 to develop resources to support migrant workers in UK fishing to understand their labour rights in the UK - both before departure and while working in UK waters.
Amount awarded: £16,600
Salute Her UK
Grant funding awarded in 2022 to support a bespoke trauma-informed support/therapy intervention for women who have lived experience of sexual assault and associated trauma in the military, merchant navy or fishing fleet.
Amount awarded: £40,000
