Good luck to our 24 #TeamSeafarersKGFS runners taking on the iconic London Marathon on 26 April, raising vital funds to support seafarers in need and their families. We thank them for their dedication and wish them every success on race day.

We also unveil our 2025 Impact Report, highlighting the reach of our work thanks to donor support. Over 439,000 seafarers and their families were supported globally, with 59 grants awarded totalling nearly £2.7 million across 44 organisations.

We are proud to be named an official charity partner for Posidonia 2026, reflecting our growing global presence and commitment to seafarer welfare, with our team engaging partners and raising awareness on the ground in Athens.

Amid ongoing challenges in the Strait of Hormuz, we continue to highlight the urgent risks faced by an estimated 20,000 seafarers stranded at sea, supporting frontline organisations delivering critical aid and welfare services during this crisis.

We also spotlight emerging issues affecting maritime communities. New research funded by the charity explores gambling-related harms among UK seafarers, while the “Unspoken” initiative encourages anonymous reporting of sexual misconduct at sea to help shape the first global response framework.

In addition, our latest Sea Views podcast explores the role of remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) in offshore operations, offering insight into subsea technology and careers at sea.

Finally, we mark National Fishing Remembrance Day 2026 on 10 May, honouring those lost at sea and reinforcing the importance of safety and support for fishing communities. We also extend our congratulations to Sarah Mullally on her enthronement as Archbishop of Canterbury, wishing her every success in her ministry.
