We’ve just published our 2024 Impact Report. Thanks to our generous supporters, we awarded 64 grants, supported 48 organisations, and reached more than 650,000 seafarers through £2.6 million in grant funding. The report also shares first-hand stories that highlight the difference this support makes.
On Sunday 27 April, 39 #TeamSeafarersKGFS runners will take on the TCS London Marathon to raise vital funds for seafarers in need and their families. We’re wishing all our runners the very best of luck and thanking them for their incredible commitment.
We’re delighted that the Rt Hon Nusrat Ghani MP will rejoin The Seafarers’ Charity as a Vice President at our Annual Meeting in June. She will also be speaking at our Waves of Influence event this summer, alongside BMT CEO Sarah Kenny OBE. Waves of Influence, organised in partnership with Sailors' Children's Society and supported by The Fishmongers' Company and Trinity House, is a fundraising lunch taking place on 9 July at Fishmongers' Hall and will celebrate women’s achievements and challenges in maritime.
This month, we’re proud to spotlight UKSA as our Charity of the Month. With our funding, UKSA has strengthened its welfare support for cadets through dedicated staff and tailored resources, helping young people thrive at sea and beyond.
Sunday 11 May marks National Fishing Remembrance Day - a moment to honour those lost in the UK fishing industry and recognise the ongoing risks faced by those working at sea.
Looking for a challenge this summer? Join us for the 24 Peaks Challenge on 5–6 July in the Lake District. Whether you choose Gold, Silver or Bronze, it’s an unforgettable experience that makes a real difference for seafarers in need and their families.
