Law firm Wikborg Rein to provide free legal support for The Seafarers’ Charity
We are immensely grateful to law firm Wikborg Rein (WR), which has this week formally established a pro bono partnership in support of our charity.
Wikborg Rein’s London office will provide free legal support for The Seafarers’ Charity’s mission to improve the lives of those who work, or have worked, at sea.
The partnership officially launched on 12 January with a meet-and-greet event in London between members of WR’s London office and our leadership team.

The Seafarers’ Charity, an international fundraising grant-funder, focuses on providing financial support, advocating for seafarers, and convening stakeholders across the maritime sector to ensure seafarers are free from need and disadvantage.
In 2025, we helped more than 400,000 seafarers and their families through our network of delivery partners, awarding £2.7m to address the challenges of a seafaring life.
WR is headquartered in Norway and began operations as a maritime focused law firm more than 100 years ago. Today it is an international firm with a broad remit.
“This partnership reflects our long-standing connection to the maritime sector and our belief that pro bono work should be purposeful, well-structured, and aligned with the causes we know best. The Seafarers’ Charity plays a vital role in supporting seafarers and their families, and we are proud that our London team can contribute its legal expertise in a way that delivers tangible impact.” - Chris Grieveson, London Managing Partner at Wikborg Rein

“We are delighted to be partnering with Wikborg Rein. We look forward to building a strong and collaborative relationship.”
