Our grant funding supports frontline organisations and projects that provide essential help for seafarers and their families in crisis. Each grant application is assessed against our core goals to ensure the support provided to ensure that your donations go to where the need is greatest.

Mission to Seafarers
Grant funding awarded in 2022 to support consolidating and strengthening welfare services for seafarers at ports and at sea.
Amount awarded: £100,000
Mission to Seafarers
Grant funding awarded in 2022 to fund the necessary improvements to the Chat to a Chaplain service for seafarer, which was originated in 2020 in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Merchant Navy Welfare Board
Grant funding awarded in 2022 to continue funding the UK Port Welfare MiFi Partnership Project.
Amount awarded: £4,500
Marine Society and Sea Cadets
Grant funding was awarded in 2022 for Phase 2 of the Marine Engineering Pathway Project, supporting the development of nationwide engineering skills for young people over a six-year programme.
Amount awarded: £11,187
Lighthouse Seafarers’ Mission
Grant funding awarded in 2022 to support the salary costs for 12 months of an additional 1.5 FTE staff at the Lighthouse Seafarers Mission in the Falklands. This will enable greater amounts of time to be spent with seafarers - interacting with them more often and as required. It will also allow for additional staff training to enable improved responses to the needs of seafarers, and a greater number of ship visits to take place. In addition, with the many Ukraine and Russian nationals coming into the Port, the workload has increased to care for their needs.

Port of Bristol Seafarers’ Centre
Grant funding awarded to provide support and services to seafarers visiting the ports of Portbury and Avonmouth.
Amount awarded: £25,000
